DC State Board of Ed To Review Approved Agency Budget for FY15

DC STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION TO REVIEW APPROVED AGENCY BUDGET FOR FY15, DISCUSS STATUS OF ESEA WAIVER AND GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Washington, DC – The District of Columbia State Board of Education (State Board) will hold a working session to review issues coming before the State Board. The following issues will be covered at this meeting:

  • FY14 and FY15 Budget for the State Board (SBOE Discussion): The State Board will receive an update on the agency’s current budget status in addition to receiving a presentation on spending plans for FY15.
  • ESEA Waiver Amendments Update (SBOE Discussion): The State Board will discuss next steps in reviewing and processing ESEA waiver amendments.
  • Graduation Requirements (SBOE Discussion): The State Board will discuss next steps towards revising high school graduation requirements and discuss their upcoming Graduation Requirements and Competency-Based Learning Summit on July 9, 2014 at 6:30pm at the Dorothy I. Height/Benning Neighborhood Library (RSVP here).

A portion of the meeting may be closed for the State Board to consult with their legal counsel.

The working session will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 4:30pm at 441 4th Street NW, Room 1112.

While working sessions are open to the public, individuals and representatives of organizations are not permitted to speak or participate during the working session. However, individuals and representatives of organizations may submit written testimony for consideration by the State Board. Written testimony may be submitted by email at [email protected].
