DC State Board of Education to Hold Working Session on Compulsory Attendance Rulemaking

The District of Columbia State Board of Education (DCSBOE) will hold a working session to hear a presentation from the Office of the State Superintendent of Education on revised compulsory attendance rulemaking, hear an update on the proposed graduation requirements, and discuss the Council of the District of Columbia’s proposed legislation, the “Testing Integrity Act of 2013”

However, in accordance with the Open Meetings Act (DC Code § 2-574), the DCSBOE will close the first portion (from 4:30 pm-5:30 pm) of its meeting so that the Board members can receive training on their roles and responsibilities for the upcoming calendar year. The public will be invited to attend the meeting at the conclusion of these activities.

The working session will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2013 at 4:30 pm at 441 4th Street NW, Room 830S, the BEGA Conference Room (note the location change).

Individuals and representatives of organizations will not be permitted to speak or participate during the Working Session. However, individuals and representatives of organizations may submit written testimony for consideration by the Board. Written testimony may also be submitted by email at [email protected].
