- Student, Benjamin Banneker High School
Daniel Rodriguez is a proud Benjamin Banneker Academic High School junior, living in Ward 1. Daniel lives in Ward 1 and has attended elementary, middle, and high school under the jurisdiction of the District of Columbia Public Schools. As a result of his endeavors, he found himself having a lot of experience with the educational system in his specific ward and in wards around the city. Danile also has been to many of the schools around D.C., and has learned about the culture and community of schools with regard to not only the students, but also the teachers, faculty, and staff of the schools in question. Having grown up in DC, Daniel has personal experience with the adversity students face in their day to day lives, in and outside of school. Daniel has learned a lot from having to overcome these events in his life, and he knows that he is not alone when it comes to those maladies. Knowing this, he is interested in working on the ESSA Task Force in an attempt to improve the lives of our students and their pathways to success. The future of our students is the future of our city and the future of our country. Danile aims to help improve the quality of school environment as well as focus on student adversity in and outside of schools.
