Washington, DC - The DC State Board of Education (SBOE) announces that its previously scheduled public meeting on Wednesday, September 21, 2017 has been changed due to Rosh Hashanah. The September monthly meeting will occur on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. in Room 412 of the John A. Wilson Building at 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. An updated agenda for the public meeting will be released next week.
In addition, the offices of the SBOE will be closed on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 due to a staff and Board member professional development day. This training will be closed to the public under the Open Meetings Act (DC Official Code § 2–575(a)(12)).
The State Board of Education provides policy leadership, support, advocacy, and oversight of public education to ensure that every student is valued and learns the skills and knowledge necessary to become informed, competent, and contributing global citizens.
