Ashley B. Carter is a 10 year resident of Washington, DC and was elected in 2016 as the At-Large Representative for the DC State Board of Education. Additionally, she is a director at the Independent Women's Forum, an organization that works on issues that affect women and families. She frequently speaks on issues related to women in politics.
Ashley received her B.A in Government & Politics from the University of Maryland, College Park and holds a J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law. She also spent time studying at the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
Ashley is actively involved in the DC community. She currently volunteers with the Junior League of Washington, serves on the advisory council for the Washington Literacy Center, and promotes literacy development by working with several area nonprofits.
