Cosby Hunt is a native Washingtonian and National Board Certified Teacher (since 2006); he lives in the North Michigan Park neighborhood (Ward 5) with his wife and two sons, both of whom attend the Inspired Teaching School. Cosby is the Senior Officer of Teaching & Learning at Center for Inspired Teaching. He co-founded Inspired Teaching's Building Literacy in the Social Studies (BLISS) program through which he and cohorts of teachers created Common Core-aligned curricula at the middle and high school levels for District of Columbia Public Schools. He also created DC's first citywide high school history course called Real World History, which has enrolled both DCPS and charter school students since its inception in 2014. Cosby earned his bachelor's degree in Non-Western History at the University of Pennsylvania and his master’s degree from the University of Georgia.
