Request for Assistance (RFA)

Our 311 system for public education provides relevant resources, information and appropriate agency or organization referrals to meet the specific needs of the caller. In addition to resources and referrals, the RFA line allows our office to provide one-on-one coaching to families on a variety of public education issues.

A request for assistance may be filed by any individual or organization with questions or concerns about a District of Columbia Public School or DC public charter school.  We accept request via our intake hotline (202) 741-4692 and email [email protected]. Request may also contact us via postal mail or facsimile (202) 741-0879. We also can conduct intake meetings in person. We prefer that complainants call ahead to schedule a time for an in-person intake meeting.

 

Note: We are accepting Requests for Assistant by phone and email. Please email [email protected] or call (202) 741-4692 and include your name, email address, and brief summary of your issue, and we will respond to you within 24 to 48 hours.

We accept request for assistance regardless of the language spoken by the caller. For callers who do not speak English, we use telephonic interpretation. Our intake form is also available online in Spanish.

We will ask all request for assistance to provide us with their contact information, information about the student, a summary of the problem, and their proposed resolution.
