Congratulating Mae Best on Her Retirement

Mae H. Best is retiring as the executive director of the East River Family Strengthening Collaborative (ERFSC). She earned degrees in social work, worked in foster care, and played a key role in creating adoption services for Black children in D.C. Since 2000, she led ERFSC, launching important programs for seniors and families while growing the organization’s budget from $750,000 to $13 million and expanding its staff from 7 to 83 people. The D.C. State Board of Education congratulates her on her retirement and recognizes her lasting contributions to the community.
