The State Board recommends that the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) issue guidance establishing minimum expectations for early warning systems across all local education agencies (LEAs). The State Board recommends that the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education (DME) explore affordable, efficient options for a statewide monitoring system. The State Board further recommends that the DME should gather feedback from partners in the DC community when exploring options for data collection and transfer; that DME work with Regional Education lab to support planning and implementation of a monitoring system; and that DME recommend a pilot attendance early warning and intervention monitoring system by SY 2028-2029. The resolution makes additional recommendations to other DC government entities.
