DC STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION TO PARTICIPATE IN WORKSHOP ON IMPLEMENTING STANDARDS, DISCUSS NEXT STEPS IN ADOPTING COMPETENCY-BASED LEARNING FRAMEWORK
Washington, DC – The District of Columbia State Board of Education (State Board) will convene a working session on November 5, 2014 at 4:30pm to participate in a workshop on academic standards implementation. This will enable the State Board to improve its monitoring of the implementation of Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and other approved academic standards.
The State Board will also discuss next steps towards adopting a competency-based learning framework with representatives from the Office of the State Superintendent of Education.
Finally, the State Board will receive an update from State Board staff on the status and distribution of school-based nurses in the District of Columbia.
The working session will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 4:30pm at 441 4th Street NW, Room 838.
A portion of the meeting will be closed for professional development.
While working sessions are open to the public, individuals and representatives of organizations are not permitted to speak or participate during the working session.
