DC STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION TO RECEIVE BRIEFING ON ESEA FLEXIBILITY WAIVER EXTENSION,

VOTE SCHEDULED FOR NEXT WEEK

 

Washington, DC – The District of Columbia State Board of Education (State Board) will hold a working session on August 21, 2014 at 5:00pm to be briefed by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education on proposed amendments to the District of Columbia’s ESEA Flexibility Waiver before a scheduled vote on the waiver. The proposed amendments constitute a one-year extension of the District’s waiver from No Child Left Behind. The proposed ESEA Flexibility Waiver can be found at http://bit.ly/dceseawaiver

 

The working session will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 5:00pm at 441 4th Street NW, Room 726N.

 

A portion of the meeting may be closed for the State Board to consult with legal counsel.

 

While working sessions are open to the public, individuals and representatives of organizations are not permitted to speak or participate during the working session. However, individuals and representatives of organizations may submit written testimony for consideration by the State Board. Written testimony may be submitted by email at [email protected].
