DC State Board of Ed Schedules Vote on Updated State and LEA Report Cards

DC STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION SCHEDULES VOTE ON UPDATED STATE AND LEA REPORT CARDS

 

Washington, DC – The District of Columbia State Board of Education (State Board) will hold a public meeting onWednesday, June 18, 2014 to review issues coming before the State Board. The following issues will be covered at this meeting:

 

  • State and LEA Report Cards (OSSE Presentation): The State Board will review updated changes to the categories and format of the District’s State and LEA Report Cards to ensure that they are in compliance with federal guidance.
  • ESEA Flexibility Waiver Amendment Update (SBOE Discussion): In preparation for State Board approval of amendments to the District’s ESEA Flexibility Waiver, the State Board’s Implementation Committee will share its findings and recommendations on how to proceed. The State Board continues to seek public input on the District’s state accountability plan. The public meeting will occur on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 5:30pm at 441 4th Street NW in the Old Council Chamber. All students, parents, and educators, and community members are invited to provide testimony.

 

Individuals and representatives of organizations who wish to comment at the meeting are asked to notify State Board staff in advance by phone at (202) 741-0888 or by email at [email protected] and furnish their names, addresses, telephone numbers, and organizational affiliation, if any, by the close of business the Monday prior to the meeting. They should also bring fifteen (15) copies of their written statements with them to the meeting and are encouraged to submit one (1) electronic copy in advance.

 

The meeting will air live on District Knowledge Network (DKN) Comcast Channel 99, RCN Channel 18, and Fios Channel 12.
