DC STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION WELCOMES STATE SUPERINTENDENT HANSEUL KANG, LOOKS FORWARD TO WORKING TOGETHER
Washington, DC – The District of Columbia State Board of Education (State Board) extends a warm welcome to Ms. Hanseul Kang on her appointment to the role of State Superintendent of Education. The State Board also applauds Mayor Bowser for selecting a State Superintendent who has demonstrated strong leadership, both as an educator and an administrator.
Jack Jacobson, President of the State Board, shared, “I am excited to work with Ms. Kang as she assumes this critical role in our city. She has a strong record of improving student outcomes, and I look forward to working with her to do the same for the students of the District. The State Board remains committed to working with the Office of the Superintendent to ensure that all students have the opportunity to receive an excellent education.”
The State Board and the State Superintendent of Education have a long history of working together to improve academic performance in the District’s schools. With Ms. Kang’s appointment, the State Board looks forward to continuing this tradition of collaboration.
The State Board also wishes to thank Dr. Amy Maisterra for setting a new precedent for communication and collaboration between the State Board and the Office of the State Superintendent of Education and looks forward to continuing to build a relationship with her office.
