DC State Board of Education Welcomes New Executive Director

(Washington, DC)This week, the District of Columbia State Board of Education (SBOE) welcomes a new Executive Director, John-Paul C. Hayworth. Mr. Hayworth has over a decade of experience in government at the local, state and federal levels including working for the Government of the District of Columbia in multiple mayoral administrations.

“The SBOE is thrilled that Mr. Hayworth has come aboard,” said Jack Jacobson, President of the SBOE. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to SBOE.”

Mr. Hayworth served most recently as Manager of Federal Affairs and Senior Policy Advisor in the Executive Office of the Mayor where he was an advocate on behalf of the education agencies under the jurisdiction of the mayor, including the District of Columbia Public Schools, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education.

“I am committed to the achievement of the mission of the SBOE by engaging families, students, educators, community members, elected officials and business leaders to ensure that every child in the District of Columbia is ready for success,” said Mr. Hayworth.
